2014 was a big year for us. Finally we released our first game as Nyamyam. Tengami came out on iOS in the last week of February and received Apple’s prestigious Editor’s Choice Awards. We may or may not have shared a few quiet tears of joy in a McDonalds near the coast of England about this. We received many emails from people who loved Tengami. Thank you so much for taking the time to write to us. It really means a lot to us to know there are people out there who truly appreciate the hard work dedication we put into making Tengami. On iOS Tengami sold more than we had anticipated and to our surprise keeps selling well on the AppStore to this day.
Tengami also released on the Wii U eShop in early November and I fell in love with Miiverse. It was a great joy to see people commenting on their progress while playing through the game, using our stamps to create beautiful artworks and writing their own poetry. While initial sales of the Wii U version were a little lower than we had hoped for, I am glad that we released on the Wii U. It might be small, but definitely tight knit and enthusiastic community of players.
Towards the end of the year we finally finished the PC and MAC versions of Tengami. Pre-orderers received the game early and this morning I sent out Steam keys to everyone. Unfortunately I requested the wrong keys, so the game will only install in the official release date and not before. You can redeem the key now and the game will automatically download on January 15th.
In a way this is a good summary for 2014, we always tried our best, but mistakes were made on the way. I want to thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate through the maze that is called ‘Game Development’.
In 2015 we will release Tengami on PC/MAC, as well as Android. But most excitingly we will start working on our next game. Expect, in the usual way, infrequent updates on our progress.
Happy New Year!
